Construction Update - December 2025

It’s been an exciting and productive period at the Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital construction site, with plenty of progress to celebrate as we move closer to our 2025 opening!

Plumbers on Site

Over the past few weeks, our plumbers have been hard at work, digging trenches and laying the main pipelines. These essential pipelines will carry both supply and waste lines to each of the hospital buildings, ensuring the infrastructure is ready to support our state-of-the-art facility.

The Main Building Takes Shape

One of the most exciting milestones is seeing the main building begin to come into focus. Trenches have been dug, and the footings are being prepared and poured with concrete. These footings are a vital part of the build, as they will provide the support needed for the steel structure and the concrete tilt panels – which will also serve as the building’s fire walls.

Tilt Panels: Progress and Preparation

Speaking of tilt panels, the concrete casting beds were poured quickly, allowing the concrete team to dive into action. We’re thrilled to share that 4 of the 10 tilt panels have already been poured! These large panels will soon be lifted into place, marking another significant step forward in the construction process.

Next Steps

Looking ahead, the team will focus on completing the remaining tilt panel pours and lifting them into place. Once this is done, the structural steel will be installed! The steel is waiting to be delivered to site, and we can’t wait to see the hospital’s framework take shape.

Lots of steel required to form our main building!

Weather Watch

As with any construction project, Mother Nature keeps us on our toes. After receiving a significant amount of rain over the weekend, work slowed a little this week – but that’s all part of the journey. We’re hopeful for clearer, drier weather in the weeks to come so the team can maintain momentum.

More rain today!

A Well-Deserved Break

The holiday season is just around the corner, and our hardworking trades and construction teams will be taking a well-earned break over the Christmas and New Year period to spend time with family and friends. We wish them a safe and joyful holiday and look forward to welcoming everyone back to site early in the New Year, refreshed and ready to tackle the next stages of the build.

A Heartfelt Thank You

As always, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone for their continued patience and support. Seeing this project come to life wouldn’t be possible without you. We’re excited to keep sharing these updates as we build a facility dedicated to providing outstanding care for horses across the region and beyond.

Stay tuned for more updates in the New Year – 2025 is on the horizon, and we can’t wait to welcome you to the Sunshine Coast Equine Hospital!
